Exhibit: Magic Portals, The Art of Story In-Person

Magic Portals, The Art of Story is an exhibition of Student Mini Comics and Graphic Novels.

Located on the 1st Floor of the Library CORE Building

Dates: The exhibit is available to view in person from August through the end of September 2024

Comics and graphic novels are powerful art forms that blend narrative and visual storytelling. No matter what form they take - fiction, fantasy, journalism, memoir, political satire, or poetry - they have the power to transport us to another world entirely.

This exhibit showcases a selection of Mini Comics created by the CSU East Bay 2023 Graphic Novels Special Topics and 2024 Narrative Illustration classes. Themes range from intergalactic fantasies to cyber mysteries, ghost stories, and origin myths of the cultural experience of migrating to the United States from Argentina, a guide to fidget toys, and navigating mental health in the COVID era.

We hope the warm lights, cozy colors, and various sitting spots help you enter a magic portal of your own.

The exhibit was curated and arranged by Kristen Zimmerman and Daisy Muralles.
